The new build two storey, five bed detached dwelling offers various design features: Barrowdale facing brickwork, smooth red bands, flush casement windows, natural stone heads and cills, and a natural slate roof.
The property also boasts an integral double garage and benefits from green credentials through the use of photovoltaics.
Greenhill Cottage in Lower Whitley provides an example of smart development within the green belt.
With four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a triple detached garage and a landscaped pond, the new design was some two to three times larger than the existing property.
Yet the impact on the surrounding environment is minimized via innovation.

In replacing the former motorway vehicle recovery site the planning application utilised the original built form of the site to justify the overall scale and size of the new house as it was located in the Green Belt.
The house provided family rooms, six bedrooms, ensuites, triple garage with granny annexe and an indoor swimming pool.
Green Oak Trusses are located in the family space and also the swimming pool area.
The use of natural timber gives a tactile feel to the space whilst allowing for large uninterrupted spans creating the open feel below.
This development involved the design and construction of four new detached family homes.
Working with Abode Property Development, the Poynton-based home builder that Randle White Architects collaborated with on the Oak View project, the challenge was to maximise plot density without compromising on design quality.
The Lostock Hall Road development offers a case study in designing attractive modern houses with period features.
