Object was established in 1995 by Nigel Buckie, BA (Hons), Dip (Hons) RIBA with the intention to pursue and undertake any project that requires an 'object' to be designed, whether that object is a building, interior, furniture or artwork.

Nigel at object architecture worked with us on a project that took around 8 months to complete, being a
whole house renovation from top to bottom including side return extension. He came up with the designs
to turn our nice but not particularly stylish or ergonomic Victorian semi into a beautiful house with so much
better flow than it had before. Nigel's key strengths are the detail of the design and spec, which front
loaded all decision-making and forced contractors to quote on a whole-job basis, so minimising the
number of unforeseen extras that can crop up. He was a highly attentive project manager who visited the
site often and caught mistakes before/while they were being made, in time to correct them. This saved us
as the client a lot of trouble and time, and invaluably saved us from having conversations with trades that
could have resulted in mistakes being made through our inexperience/lack of knowledge and occasionally
their desire to speed things up or cut corners. His approach goes well beyond simply designing spaces
into helping with decisions on colours, flooring, bathroom suites..it really helped us achieve a coherent
and high spec finish to the house and we couldn't be more pleased with how it looks and feels to live in.

I have used Nigel in a number of various projects over the years from designing home refurbishments to dealing with party wall disputes. He is very creative and professional and always offers great ideas which I then implement into the works. He is great at guiding me through different projects and really takes the stress out what would normally be very stressful situations.
