Gelder Joinery Limited specialises in providing architectural joinery and installation services to both contractors and private clients. We have particular experience working on exacting heritage projects in historic homes and Oxford colleges, throughout the county and beyond. We handcraft bespoke doors, windows, conservatories and staircases, along with free-standing and fitted furniture.
In addition, we have also created personalised commissions of garden structures, interior roof structures and wall panelling. Gelder Joinery will happily work with homeowners and architects to create and deliver the perfect handcrafted product whatever the scale or budget. We regularly work on the refurbishment and extension of existing buildings as well as supplying bespoke timberwork to new building projects.
Within our new Oxford workshops our dedicated team work with a wide range of high quality hardwood and softwood timbers and veneer. All timber is certified and sourced sustainably using local timber merchants.

Gelder Joinery was founded by Bryan Gelder in 1978.
Bryan qualified as an ecclesiastical joiner and began a family business, which has seen many members of the family work for the company.
Bryan firmly believes in passing on his specialist skills and so is particularly proud to have trained many apprentices including a number of national award winners.
We are now entering a new phase of business, having moved to a larger workshop and expanded our team of highly qualified joiners and apprentices.
