Services
Our initial involvement with Mullingar Presbyterian Church was in the preparation of a feasibility study relating to the continued use of the existing church versus moving to a new site.
We worked with PCI in relation to procurement of a suitable building site, obtaining all necessary approvals for a new church building and the management of finances available for the project.
We also worked closely with the church representatives in Mullingar and with the project manager appointed by the church.
Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, a B+ Listed Building, is located on the corner of University Street and Rugby Road in Belfast.
In 2012 client representatives formulated a brief which acknowledged that there had been minimal upgrading works carried out over the years and that the complex was looking tired and uninteresting.
Our client requested that the Church complex would provide a sense of place, an environment of welcome, that contributed to the identity of the Church and which provided a sense of belonging to, and relationship with, the community it serves.
Works at Maze Presbyterian Church commenced with the coordination of the demolition of the original schoolhouse and obtaining Planning Permission for demolition of existing church building and erection of a new church.
Much time was spent initially on considering all possible options available to increase the size of the sanctuary.
Options included extension of existing church, utilization of existing church as a welcome area and demolition of existing church and provision of new church building.
Situated in Portadown, Seagoe Centre for the Parish of Portadown has been conceived as a flexible accessible Community Facility to provide a range of rooms and spaces to cover a wide range of activities.
The building has been planned and sited to respect the existing Listed stone Church building and required sensitive dialogue and discussions with planning and the Environment and Heritage Service in the clarification of detailed planning matters.
The building is planned on one level with an open, clear circulation route connecting the multi-functional spaces which include a flexible main hall, meeting rooms, a crche and large flexible open foyer space, complete with office support and reception areas.
Due to the structural instability of the existing church buildings, located to the rear of the church, our client had decided to demolish those buildings and build a new flexible church building which would service both the church and local community's needs.
The new accommodation includes: conference meeting facilities; music room; vestry; catering kitchen; minister's room; church office and new welcome area with coffee bar.
This new accommodation was designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing church and add much-needed disabled accessibility to the existing buildings.
