Prime Meridian
We are a London and Somerset architects and structural engineers. Founded in 1989, we have offices in Central London and Shepton Mallet, Somerset, and satellite offices in Surrey and Devon. We undertake a wide range of architect projects, both new build and refurbishment, in residential, commercial, education and healthcare sectors. 2020 is a critical year in building design.

We need to design new buildings, and refurbish existing buildings to use much less energy and to utilise carbon free fuels. The challenge is immense, and has to include the 27 million existing buildings, as well as all new buildings. We have invested in knowledge to support clients in the journey towards low energy and sustainable buildings. As architects to work with our clients to maximise the potential in their projects, to deliver the agreed project objectives and contribute to a sustainable built environment.
Services
We're celebrating our 30th anniversary.
Over the years as both commercial and residential architects we have seen great changes in the design process and how we communicate and transfer information, and much greater complexity in the building process.
We are excited about the future, and how we will embrace new technologies and materials to fulfil our aim to design low carbon, low energy buildings.
Our staff are qualified Architects, Architectural Technologists, structural engineers and energy assessors, based in our two main offices in Central London and Somerset, from where we can service most of Southern England.
We offer a range of architectural services.
As a full service Architecture company this includes; the traditional Architects' full service which covers all work from the inception of a project up to the completion of the construction, as well as the individual stages of work outlined below.
The initial stage of a project can be the most exciting, where ideas and strategies are explored, and either rejected, or adopted and developed.
This stage defines the project parameters of scale, scope, timescale and budget, which are translated into drawn form, for the conceptual design.
Most projects, even small domestic work, involve alterations to the existing structure, or the design of new elements of structure, and so require structural engineering design and input.
We have engineered large and complex multi storey buildings, as well as substantial new build projects.
We feel that there are clear benefits to our clients when we undertake acts as both architects and structural engineers.
Communication is much simpler than when two different consultants are used, which saves time and often reduces fees.
