Miller Architects is an RIBA Chartered Practice established in 2005 to provide architectural services in London, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Kent, especially in the districts of Wealden, Mid Sussex, Tandridge and Sevenoaks. The practice is committed to design excellence achieved through active collaboration with clients and other consultants.

We aim to deliver beautiful, flexible, marketable and environmentally sustainable buildings, interiors and urban design. We are committed to design of the highest quality which is both contextual and contemporary. This contextualism allows us to work creatively with historic buildings of all periods and styles. Our creative problem solving is intended to result in projects of distinction which unlock the potential of a site and maximise value for the client even in the most complicated situations.

Allied to our pursuit of design excellence is a belief in the importance of technical competence, attention to detail and a professional service.
Services
The practice principal, Iain Miller, is a chartered architect who graduated in 1980 from the highly regarded Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow (run jointly by Glasgow University and Glasgow School of Art).
Apart from 2 years working in Hong Kong, he has spent all of his career working in London and the South East of England.
He has been involved in some of the largest and most prestigious projects constructed in the South East during this period including the Glaxo pharmaceuticals research campus in Stevenage (construction cost 500 million), the Canary Riverside mixed use project at Canary Wharf (construction cost 145 million) and the 40 Grosvenor Place office of the future project in London (construction cost 45 million) which won the British Council for Offices Building of the Year Award in 2001.
Fees are negotiated in accordance with industry norms and tailored to the specific requirements of a project in terms of size, complexity, building type and whether the works are new-build or refurbishment/extension.
The range of fee options includes a percentage of the construction cost, a lump sum and time charges.
The most suitable of these will depend upon the nature of the services to be provided.
For example, time charge fees might be most appropriate where the final scope of the service is yet to be determined.

We work closely with the client to understand what they are seeking to achieve, their timescale and budget.
We seek to produce an imaginative design solution that maximises the architectural potential of the site, makes creative use of light and space and is true to the nature of the materials used.
We are committed to sustainable design in our work through the appropriate use of sustainable design methods, materials and technologies.
Commercial architecture is the design of buildings for commercial clients - often for business or mixed use.
By definition it covers a vast array of building types and design tasks from strategic planning through to interior design.
Common to all is the importance of the clients business objectives and aspirations and the need for us to be responsive and flexible.
Clients play a key role as a member of the project team.
We aim to work closely with clients to produce a practical, innovative and stylish design specifically tailored to the needs of the client to create an effective and productive working environment.
Masterplanning is fundamentally about vision and the delivery of change through the creation of new places.
Every masterplan is a new challenge requiring imagination and the creative input of not just the designer but the client, communities and an array of specialists.
The process typically commences with the brief, which is taken from the client and other stakeholders, to allow the goals to be established.
Once the necessary team is established and research undertaken alternative masterplans are prepared and evaluated to ensure that the preferred masterplan represents the most efficient and cost effective way of meeting the goals.
