2021 has brought a continuing demand for our building pathology and expert witness services. We are now working on architectural projects in Northumberland, Brough, Romaldkirk, West Lothian, and Kent. Many of the buildings upon which we advise suffer problems of water penetration through roofs, walls, and basements, or are experiencing severe condensation, and we are pleased to advise upon failures of construction, or of design.

We can also prepare and implement schemes of remedial works. We continue to update our Expert Witness page to feature Case Studies: each tale has a moral. A monthly Forum to support students. Due to our increasing workload we have a position available for a dynamic post Part II graduate looking to progress to Part III. The role will involve work at all stages on private Client residential projects and construction litigation.

Applicants should have a keen interest in construction technology. Please send your CV to us at: architects@johnpotterarchitect.com. This Practice continues to run the Scheme throughout the year so it is never too late to be involved if you so wish, just give us a call!
Services
JPA offer a complete range of architectural and consultancy services, from pre-design advice, feasibility and brief preparation to delivery of the project on site, for new build, refurbishment and extension projects.
We provide services to private and commercial clients, property developers and local authorities, solicitors and building contractors as well as to other architects.
Our building pathology and expert witness work in connection with construction litigation give us a special understanding of what constitutes sound and durable construction.
The provision of consultancy services has been part of the Practice's work since its establishment in 1979.
We have been, and are, engaged in many aspects of the design and construction of buildings, from the smallest components to the most complex construction technologies.
We assist product manufacturers in the development and marketing of new and existing components and systems; advise government departments upon design guidance for external consultants; are involved with various test programmes to develop new products and product applications, and undertake various specialist surveys including those required by the Disability Discrimination Act.
Many professional bodies require their members to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) throughout their professional career.
Since 1993 we have been committed to the preparation and presentation of focused CPD for Architects in the form of seminars.
All JPA events are designed and presented by architects, to architects for the benefit of architects.
Our technical presentations are based on our experience as practising Architects engaged in a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects, in building pathology and construction litigation, in research work with the BRE and product development for companies throughout Europe and the USA.
