I have a small architectural practice in Purley which I started shortly after qualifying in 1983. I am a founder member of the Traditional Architects Group and I specialise in traditional architecture for both private individuals and developers. The service covers feasibility studies, Planning submissions, Building Control and construction drawings.

My association with local consultants such as arboriculturalists, topographical surveyors, Code assessors and structural engineers, allows for a wide variety of work to be undertaken. Interior designs are also shown.
Services
I deal with extensions and improvements to existing houses as much as I deal with new houses.
The service is flexible, but generally starts with a meeting to discuss the options, followed by an email from me to confirm our thoughts, to outline my suggested services and to give a fee proposal.
I would write a design and access statement (if required) and submit to the Local Authority.
At that point the householder might deal with the rest of the work without further input from me.
He would either self-build, or approach a contractor for a quotation.
Andrea Palladio was a sixteenth-century architect from Padua.
He was a late Renaissance architect who lived in more stable and affluent times than his predecessors, and produced many beautiful villas based on the architecture of ancient Rome.
The general characteristics are large porticos, often all four sides, and a huge domed central atrium.
The arrangement was more for show than comfortable living.
The majority of one-off houses built these days could be described as, at least vaguely, classical.
